چکیده
Abstract BACKGROUND Brain metastases (BMs) are the most common expansive intracranial lesions in adults. Approximately 50% of patients diagnosed with new brain have more than one metastasis at time diagnosis. OBJECTIVE We report our experience treated GKSR and evaluate outcome. METHODS Patients by Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery (GKSR) institution between 2008 2021 for BM were recorded retrospectively. RESULTS A total 205 (56.6% females) included, a median age 59 (25-83) years old. Breast (n=85, 42.5%) lung (n=76, 38%) original locations primary tumors (Table 1). There 103 (50.3%) single 102 (49.7%) multiple BM⩾2. The number was 4 (2-43). overall mean survival 6.00(95% CI, 5.07-6.93) months all BM. percentage tumor control after treatment 65% (20-99) over follow-up 6.00(3-84) months. In population, 1-year OS rate 37.55%, 2-year 25.12%, 5-year 18.51%. among higher those ([10 (95%CI 6.67-13.33) vs 5(4.21-5.70) months, P (0.03)]). Retreatment, stability (control), progression influence BM, whether or (P<0.001). CONCLUSION Stereotaxic Radiosurgery provides good results terms Overall better Quality Life multiple. Fractionated Stereotactic Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for Large Brain Metastases: A Retrospective, Single Center Study
PURPOSE Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is widely used for brain metastases but has been relatively contraindicated for large lesions (>3 cm). In the present study, we analyzed the efficacy and toxicity of hypofractionated Gamma Knife radiosurgery to treat metastatic brain tumors for which surgical resection were not considered as the primary treatment option. METHODS AND MATERIALS Thirty-six...

Purpose: The objective of this study is to report the combined experience at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and the Miami Neuroscience Center (MNC) in treating brain metastases from melanoma with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). Methods and Materials: Prospectively collected clinical and demographic data on patients with melanoma treated with Gamma Knife (GK) at JHU between 2003 and 2007 and th...
متن کاملSurvival and intracranial control of patients with 5 or more brain metastases treated with gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery.
PURPOSE Limited data are available to help inform decisions about stereotactic radiosurgery for patients with ≥5 brain metastases. We therefore performed a retrospective analysis of patients treated for >5 brain metastases. MATERIALS/METHODS Patients who underwent treatment for ≥5 brain metastases from October 2000 to September 2010 were identified. Overall survival (OS) for each patient was ...
متن کاملIntracranial Metastatic Neuroblastoma Treated with Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery: Report of Two Novel Cases
Intracranial metastasis of neuroblastoma (IMN) is associated with poor survival. No curative therapy for the treatment of IMN currently exists. Unfractionated radiotherapy may be beneficial in the treatment of IMN given the known radiosensitivity of neuroblastoma as well as its proclivity to metastasize as discrete lesions. We present two patients with IMN treated with Gamma Knife stereotactic ...
